The Clean Fasteners furniture collection was designed from a simple question: can furniture work without metal fasteners? A framework was developed for a removable wood fastener. This new type of fastener allows for simple but sturdy stick-frame construction using wood dowels. The collection focuses on removing environmentally harmful manufacturing practices from furniture making. This means cutting the use of high-energy materials like metal and removing high-VOC chemicals like synthetic wood finishes.
